-participated in the Reno Air Races in 1998, 1999, 2000, and 2001 in his Hawker Sea Fury, “Southern Cross,” in 1999 placing 4th in the Unlimited Silver division as a rookie, and in 2000 placed 7th in the Gold division  racing his  P-51 Mustang, “Ole Yeller”, placed 4th in the Unlimited Bronze , in 2002 John also competed in “ole Yeller” and the P-63 was entered in the Rolls Royce “heritage Award”

performs aerobatic routines in his Mustang in air shows around the West

is a general contractor specializing in potato storages, warehouses, and airplane hangars

-has  been married 31 years, has five children and three granddaughters
